I was supposed to join a class trip but stayed behind with my friend. I got stuck on some tree branches and was meant to follow them across, but there was a gap in the middle with no bridge, whereas my dad had gone ahead and managed to cross. I needed to get to the second floor of the house of an old woman whom others consider crazy – the last time I saw her, she was kicking and struggling while people were trying to restrain her – so that I could cross the path and join my friend and the rest of the group. I was about to knock on the door but somehow felt that even if I managed to cross, I wouldn’t really want to join the trip with the others. I don’t know how my friend feels about the trip; she was half waiting for me and half ready to go.
